Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute was birthed out of 27 years of Community Development experience learned through Lusa Community Chest.

We are a training institute who is passionate about developing people to reach their highest callings for the Greater Good.

Our Focus is on leadership development, business development and community development  in an Africa context.

The courses we offer include Neuro Coaching, Mediation, Leadership Development, Youth Development, Enterprise development and ECD Development.

The Question we pose is: What do you need to reach your full potential? What competencies will help you have a meaningful and fulfilling life?

We remain focused on helping individuals realise their potential.

All our programmes include practical training to ensure that theory becomes experiential learning thereby preparing you for the real world.

We are SETA accredited and a Comensa recognized training provider.  We are also registered with SACE and SACSSP offering CPD points for our registered programmes.

What we do

Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute provides practical learning and development programmes to individuals and organisations.

The Institute endeavours to provide much needed support to the growing social sector in South Africa.

Our social impact programs offer participants opportunities to have direct contact training and skills development at our training centre coupled with hands-on experience at non profit organisations, thereby providing a holistic approach to social entrepreneurship. Our mission is to help improve lives by upskilling and empowering individuals with skills to change their lives and the lives of those surrounding them.

Coaching is a transformative approach to assist individuals clarify and resolve seemingly impossible perceived challenges and issues.
We invite you to become highly skilled in the exciting principles, processes and techniques of conflict management, negotiations and mediation.
Gap Year
The Gap Year programme goal is to develop and upskill youth with competencies that will improve their employability, empower them with skills to become entrepreneurs and support youth as they decide on career choices.
ECD Development
The program provides foundational training (NQF 5) that enables educators to better implement and manage an Early Childhood development (ECD) program to ensure school readiness of their young learners.
Community Development - National certificate (NQF 5)
This 1 year full time programme prepares participants to better engage with community members and manage community development programmes that add value and have positive social impact in communities. It also empowers leaders and social entrepreneurs to run their NPOs on business principles to ensure sustainability.

Lusa reserves the right to cancel training should the minimum requirement of participants not be met. Lusa also reserves the right to change the dates of training in cases of unforeseen circumstances. In both instances participants will be refunded their full amounts or given the option to attend training on another date. In the event of cancellations requested by clients, made 2 weeks prior to training, course fees will be refunded subject to a R500 administration fee. No refunds will be considered for cancellations made later than 2 weeks prior to training.  No refunds will be considered for non-attendance.

Melanie van Aswegen

Practicing Attorney (LLB), SAAM Accredited Mediator and Mediation Training Facilitator

Melanie is a practicing attorney with 20 years experience and owner of Melanie Van Aswegen Incorporated a litigation, family law and mediation practice. Melanie is passionate about family law, with strong child-orientated focus. Melanie is also a fervent advocate for mediation as a vehicle for creating win-win solutions for clients and is an enthusiastic facilitator of a NABFAM accredited course: Basic Family Law and Divorce mediation.

Lynda Bleazard

B. Curr; MBA, COMENSA accredited senior coach, Certified mBIT, NLP, Mindfulness, Integrative Enneagram and Neuro-Link Brain Fitness and Agility practitioner.

Lynda is the founder and owner of Lynda Bleazard – a Transformational Leadership Coaching, Development and Wellness company. Lynda is a life-long learner who has a deep understanding of self and others. She lives mindfully and shares her experiences, insights, learnings and inspirations for the benefit and empowerment of others. She is passionate about Transformational Values Driven Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and Change Management as well as Holistic Health and Wellness of her clients.

Diane Joy Wilder

COMENSA credentialed Master Coach, ICF certified, WBECS ,EMCC Certified Team Coach, Creative Consciousness International Consciousness Coach

Diane has coaching and training experience within the personal, business, corporate and NPO sectors. She has enjoyed 15 years as a Relationship, Executive, Sales, Group and Life coach and is passionate about transforming lives. Diane is involved in the development and facilitation of coaching programmes for Lusa.

Veronica Kietzmann-Cronje

PGDip Coaching, COMENSA credentialed Senior Coach, Certified Neuro-coach, mBIT and NLP Practitioner

Veronica has 25 years experience in Community Development and Community Impact programmes. With 5 years of coaching experience, Veronica champions the profound benefits of coaching for personal and professional development and is a actively involved in facilitating coaching programmes. Veronica enjoys the development of coaching programmes for Lusa and facilitation of these programmes. 

Thanu Padayachee

PhD, Certified Neuro-Coach practitioner

With a background in the medial sciences, Thanu remains fascinated by neuro-agility and neuro-plasticity and how coaching with the brain in mind can be used to effect transformation in people. Thanu is a coaching facilitator and is inspired by the knowledge that when we believe in ourselves, we believe in possibilities.

Annelise Venter

BA, Hons., MA and Ph.D (Development Administration), Community Development Training Facilitator

Annelise has 22 years of experience in municipal governance programmes with specific reference to local economic development programmes and high impact economic development projects. She strongly believes in the requirement that communities should be in a position to take the initiative and make the planning process, implementation and outcomes of sustainable community development their own.

Alwyn Burger

Neuro-Coach practitioner

Alwyn Burger is a Certified Neuro-Coach Practitioner and Trainer who is passionate about facilitating change in youth. Alwyn believes that coaching is a facilitative and empowering mechanism because ownership and responsibility for change is the onus of the individual.

Adelaide Makube

N.Dip Internal Auditing, BCom Honours Degree, Mentoring & Neuro-Coach practitioner

Adelaide Makube has training, mentoring and coaching experience in the NPO sector and church environment for more than 16 years. She is inspired by the impact that coaching brings to individual development. How easy change come when you reach it from the inside. Adelaide is an advocate for self development, change, transformation, self awareness and that eureka moment.
